This year I wanted to take my vacation to the next level and after a lot of research my mind was made up. I was heading to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand the Land of Smiles. I was not under the influence of the “Hangover 2”, which I know is a cult favorite. But I mainly chose Bangkok as my vacation destination because I wanted to experience an honest glimpse of the Far East.

Bangkok, the ultimate vacation destination:

I loved Bangkok for the great versatility the city offers. It is the best city to visit when you are travelling alone because there will always be something interesting to do. I was at awe by the wonderful shopping centers that offered all the international and most prestigious brands for a fraction of their price.

I am a history kind of person and I was very interested in visiting the ancient sites. I also loved being on the street with the friendly people who let me enjoy the real essence of the city.

How I took my trip up a notch:

One of the things that would ruin or make your vacation magical is the accommodation. This is what I learnt the hard way. I was once under the impression that staying at a hotel is the most hassle free option but I was wrong. I booked my apartment at the Lohas Residences Sukhumvit and I am really glad I did.

I chose to stay at one of the amazing apartments in Sukhumvit because I wanted to enjoy more freedom and flexibility than the one I would get at any hotel. My one bedroom studio was equipped with a full kitchen, a washer and a dryer and I was able to enjoy my stay at my own terms.


It was like my home away from home. I also loved the roof top swimming pool that offered a refreshing splash after a hot day in the city. I loved every second of my stay and can’t wait to go back.
