Powder coating is a crucial step for metallic and non-metallic surface applications. Blasting, rinsing, cleaning, and drying are some steps included in the application process.
Al Faizan Metal Coating recently published a document that outlines the methods of powder coating in Dubai and how it works. The powder coating uses a finishing process where free-flowing thermoplastic is applied to a surface and thickened into even layers.

The company's representative stated that the finishing process is ideal for materials like glass, metals, and plastics. He mentions that these layers can provide decorative and functional surface coatings for various finishes, colours, and textures that are not achievable using conventional liquid coating methods.

According to the document, there are two methods of coating: fluidized bed application and electrostatic spray deposition. These processes can produce a hard finish that is cost-effective, eco-friendly, and durable if compared to liquid coatings. The process has three stages: application, surface preparation, and heat curing. Usually, the substrate's surface needs to be cleaned and treated and free from dirt, dust, grime, and debris. When a surface isn't well prepared, the remaining deposits and residues affect the adhesion of the powder and its quality in the final finish.

Some steps like rinsing, cleaning, blasting, etching and drying are used. Then the equipment is employed, including blast rooms, wash stations, and dry-off ovens. Wash stations can spray parts with steam, hot water, pre-treatment solutions, and detergent to chemically prepare, clean, and rinse the surface before layering.
Masking products have to be applied to substrates that want to be uncoated. The areas coated with ESD are cured in the curing oven, and the portions coated in a fluidized bed must be heated before their application.
