[b]Ceremony Fit for Veterans[/b]

The ceremonial paying of respects is the final display of the nation’s gratitude to deceased veterans, who are:

• Military members on active duty or in the Selected Reserve
• Former military members who served on active duty and departed under conditions other than dishonorable
• Former military members who completed at least one term of enlistment or period of initial obligated service in the Selected Reserve, and departed under honorable conditions
• Former military members discharged from the Selected Reserve due to a disability incurred or aggravated in the line of duty

The military funeral service honors those who faithfully defended the country; the inclusions of the service depending on the status of the deceased. Funeral honors may be: Full Military Honors, 7-Person Detail, or a Standard Honors Team Detail.

One of the details of the veteran must come from the military group where the deceased served. Normally, a bugler plays the Taps. In case there is no bugler, a quality recording of the music will be played. Military funeral honor teams may act as pall bearers if requested by the family.
