Pune Ghatghar in the western tribal area of Junnar taluka attracts thousands of tourists due to Satavahana era Naneghat, Jivdhan fort, waterfalls and natural beauty. Local citizens here are working as guides for tourists. An eight-day guide training camp was organized in collaboration with Forest Department, Ghatghar Gram Panchayat and ICICI Foundation to improve their skills and gain more knowledge. (Naneghat)
40 youth participated in this camp. Ganesh Borge of ICICI Foundation and Anil Parkhe- Trainer, Coach and a Marketing Consultant guided these youths. Pradeep Chavan, Forest Range Officer of the Forest Department while interacting with the youth on this occasion said the importance of creating safety and trust among the tourists. He also listned to the questions and problems of the youth. Chavan informed that a website for tourism will be launched soon. (Naneghat)
While expressing his thoughts, Anil Parkhe said that it is time for these local guides to understand and adopt to the new ways that will benefit their passion and attract more tourists to the region.
Forester Phulsundar, Forest Guard Rajendra Gaikwad, President of Sarpanch Association Popat Raote and a large number of villagers were present in this event. The participants thanked all the organizers, Village administration and the trainers.
