Gerda C. Robinson’s From Trauma to Peace is a powerful memoir and self-help guide detailing her journey from a traumatic childhood in Nazi-era Germany to healing and resilience in America.

Gerda C. Robinson unveils her insightful memoir, From Trauma to Peace: How We Reclaim Our Lives Healing Body and Soul. This book chronicles Robinson's brave journey from a neglected and depressive childhood in Nazi-era Germany to a life of self-discovery and healing in America. This self-help book and memoir serve as a practical guide for those who are dealing with trauma and chronic pain.
In her deeply personal account, Robinson recounts the physical and emotional suffering of her early years, marked by hunger, neglect, and abuse during one of history's darkest times. After immigrating to the United States at age 22 to escape her past, she struggled to build a new life. However, decades later, unresolved memories resurfaced, manifesting in chronic pain and depression.
Robinson's journey to well-being began under the care of Dr. Loran Pilling at the Chronic Pain Clinic in Minneapolis, where she courageously faced her repressed experiences and the adverse effects they had on her body and mind.
From Trauma to Peace delves into Robinson's path through various therapeutic approaches and recovery phases. Her treatments blended elements of American psychotherapy with her reflections. The book proves the power of addressing trauma head-on and is filled with invaluable insights for others on the path to healing. In Robinson's words,
"The inner war often continues long after the outer war has ended, and everything on your heart and soul must be processed."
Robinson's writing is both evocative and instructive. She raises awareness on issues of PTSD, chronic pain, and the necessity of understanding the mind-body connection. In addition to her compelling narrative, she also provides actionable self-help strategies for readers who have struggled with trauma and hope for those seeking peace.
