As it is rich in history, the golf is originated from 15th century and had roots from Scotland. The most played round of 18-hole is discovered from the Old course St Andrews in 1764. Golf has great history as its world oldest tournament started in 1860 which was named as Open championship or the British Open, from the city Ayrshire in Scotland.
The British Open is the first major championship out of four, other three plays in USA. Names of the USA tournaments are The US Open, The Masters and the PGA Championship. Women have also started playing it in late 1552 but internationally it was recognized in 20th century. Now like PGA tour the LPGA tour also happens for women and it has equal fame worldwide.
