[Lafayette, August 26, 2016] – The Colorado-based software solutions provider eTakeoff, LLC makes major enhancements to their original product Dimension, a complete electronic viewer and takeoff solution for estimators in the construction industry.

Their Dimension Version 5 enhancements fix some significant bugs, and offer work breakdowns and other enhancements.

Bugs and Enhancements

Dimension Versions 5.5-14 through 5.5-17 fix problems regarding measurement movement and arc creations on rotated drawings. The upgrade fixes bugs that caused a crash in Measurement List as well as a bug that caused Dodge users to lose the ability to save measurements on Dimension Basic.

It now hides unused extension variables and includes an option to add points to already existing measurements.

Work Breakdowns

Work breakdowns, which add attributes such as part numbers and location, now feature an unlimited number of categories that are applicable to measurements. These include measurements that can be filtered, and values that can be defined or set for standard traces. The breakdown also features categories that can be added, edited, and deleted.

Other Major Enhancements in Version 5.5

Dimension Version 5.5 allows grid edits for quicker changes. Through individual edit trace properties for multiple measurements, it also allows users to change a single trace property while leaving other properties as they were. Clients can also set and edit descriptions of multiple measurements.

Finally, eTakeoff, LLC advises users to read the instructions beforehand, because an upgrade from Dimension Version 4 to Version 5 requires a database conversion and needs careful coordination.
