Exhibition are being "destroyed" by sunlight flooding in through the glass roof. CHB’s Expertise is regularly find ways to protect valued exhibitions from potential solar-fading damage caused by exposure to sunlight.

Scope

As the fascination with ancient artifacts continues to grow, CHB Industries is regularly consulted on ways to protect valued exhibitions from potential solar-fading damage caused by exposure to sunlight.

Regularly retained by well-known museums from throughout the country, CHB was recently challenged when a unique facility in the Northeast contacted it with a fascinating assignment.

Goal

CHB’s client planned to host an exhibition of medieval art and tapestries at its historic stone venue. CHB’s assignment was to protect this most historic collection from solar-fading damage that might result from exposure to sunlight streaming through the arched window openings.

Achievement

While each opening is not large, the cumulative exposure to sunlight, over the term of the exhibition could jeopardize the integrity of the art entrusted to the museum.

To meet its client’s needs, CHB used a special process combining window film and acrylic technology to create light-weight arch-shaped panels which provided the protection for the medieval exhibition.

By doing so, CHB could offer a safe environment for these works of art without compromising the natural lighting streaming through the narrow window openings.

CHB’s expertise in protecting museum exhibits has expanded to serving the needs of art collectors, worldwide, preserving personal collections, furniture, and rugs with the same window films used at the public facilities of CHB’s institutional clients.
