Chef Murph’s, Veterans Multi-Service Center Touch –A – Truck Benefit 29 October 2016
Touch –A- Truck, What child doesn't dream of sitting behind the wheel of a fire truck? At Touch-A-Truck those dreams can become a reality. This was a fun-filled day that allowed children and their parents to view, climb on, and “touch” trucks in a safe, supervised environment. Children and their families are able to enjoy time together taking photos and enjoying refreshments throughout the day, after making a small donation to the help the men and woman that need and use the services provided by the Veterans Multi-Services Center. My kids loved blowing the air horns and I enjoyed taking selfies with the supporters, kids young and old. Thanks, to the entire community supporting our Veterans.
What does the Veterans Multi-Services Center do for veterans…..?
Veterans Multi-Service Center (VMC) exists solely to “serve those who served” this great nation, our Veterans. They are the only non-profit agency in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas that provides a comprehensive resource center available to all Veterans in need. Their mission is to provide services, programs, opportunity and advancement to Veterans of the U.S. military and their families. To advance the cause of Veterans, advocating on all levels, giving voice to their concerns, bringing equity and quality to their earned benefits, and a just resolve to their needs. VMC was founded in 1980 to address the multiple needs of Vietnam Veterans. Since that time their programs have given assistances to and have grown to Veterans of all wars and conflicts, up to and including Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation New Dawn Veterans. You can donate through there link on website.
I cook for the homeless veterans at VMC, and other agencies around the country and been honored to cook for veterans that have served our great country on holidays, sometimes by myself and or with my foundation Humans4People with great volunteers. Mostly volunteers cooking at homeless shelters and soup kitchens around the country. My passion is for food and the feeding of people.
