This year marks the 50th anniversary of City Clean – a Mississauga-based, family-owned company, dedicated to helping businesses provide safe and clean working environments across the GTHA. City Clean offers mat rentals, mop rentals and restroom supplies for a variety of businesses in a wide range of industries, from small retail shops to large-scale operations.

“You don’t reach this milestone without the loyalty and support of local businesses, large and small,” said Sean Jirgens, President. “We are proud to be to part of this community for so long. Some of our customers have been with us since the very beginning.”

In 1972, City Clean began as a coin laundry in Hamilton. In 1980, the company shifted focus to an industrial laundry in Etobicoke, Ontario. Over the years, the company has grown in services and size, investing in new technologies to improve customer experience, and implementing eco-friendly practices that enable City Clean to do their part in protecting and preserving the environment.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of its employees, City Clean is celebrating 50 years strong. Many employees have been with the company for 15+ years, including the oldest tenured employee who’s been with City Clean for almost 29 years.

“We didn’t get here alone, and so we are reflecting on the last 50 years with gratitude and appreciation”, said Shayne Day, General Manager. “As we look to the future, we will continue to provide solutions that meet the needs of our customers.”
