Communication has been an essential part of our lives since the very beginning

Communication has been an essential part of our lives since the very beginning, and it develops an understanding among people. Life would have been so hard without communication. We have been using different communication methods.

So, is communication the need of the hour? What is thought-provoking is that – the way we communicate with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives.

While focusing on what is communication, we know that it is the process of exchanging words, signs, or information with others. It is done either verbally or non-verbally. Communication enables us to pass information. We understand others because of communication. Effective communication brings people closer and together.

Being able to communicate well is critical for it is important in our personal lives as well as corporate life. Life would feel incomplete without connecting and interacting with others. Tracing the history - the older methods of communication threw up many unique methods - cave paintings, smoke signals, symbols, carrier pigeons and telegraph. Every year, new devices are introduced. The internet reimagined communication and could send messages with a click. Smartphones dominate our lives. Email still exist but it’s been superseded by apps like WhatsApp or perhaps Facebook Messenger. So, the evolution of communication technology progressed over thousands of years; and this will continue with the changing world.

The world of the Web has brought people closer. With social media, the scene changed altogether. People share their entire life events on social media. It is the latest mode of communication in the digital world. Social media apps can be downloaded into smart phones, and today it has made the current generation totally obsessed! Social media has revolutionized the way we communicate – we can track and witness what people are doing, and influencers have stretched the story even further.

Finally, the changes in the methods we use to communicate have also led to a change in precisely how we communicate. Back in the day, you could expect lengthy emails about even the simplest of topics, as people felt obliged to fill the space given to them in much the same way they would with hand-written letters. Now, though, there’s no need to do that when you’re communicating with someone in real-time, even some business relationships have become a lot less formal due to this shift in style. To be brief and concise - is the order of the day.

As you can see, the business world and brand storytelling has been totally transformed by these changes in communication. In the current scenario, things are a lot simpler and, most significantly, faster. It seems like the whole world is moving at a much quicker pace thanks to the entry of technology. So, for brands, it’s critical to keep in step.

Brands also realized that it is important more than ever to communicate with their customers proactively. Brands use tactics like advertising and social media today, to communicate to existing and potential customers. The goal of brand communication is to influence customers’ perception that will lead to action. Brands plan to communicate every day - to inform, persuade, and further explore its associated values and offerings.
