For more than 15 years, the treatment center has been providing solutions for eating disorders and supporting those who are dealing with such conditions.

[Denver, 10/27/2016] – The Eating Disorder Center of Denver offers programs to treat special cases associated with eating disorders. This is an addition to their wide range of programs concerning the various types of eating and feeding problems.

Specialty Treatment Programs

Apart from their anorexia treatment program and other treatment options, they offer four specialty programs that focus on specific cases associated with eating disorders:

Binge Eating Disorder (BED) Track

This specialized track lasts for 10 weeks and aims to help patients improve their attitude about their shape and weight, establish healthy eating habits to prevent future weight gain, and treat psychiatric impairment associated with the eating disorder.

Psychotherapy happens in both group and individual sessions to teach patients how to transition from having unhealthy eating habits to good ones.

Elite Athlete Track

This is a comprehensive partial hospitalization program for performers and athletes, which does not require them to interrupt training. This treatment program aims to empower patients to return to optimal performance in a mentally and physically stronger state. The center’s multidisciplinary team helps integrate recovery-focused skills into the athletes’ lives.

Eating Disorder Trauma Track

This program focuses on educating patients on how their eating disorder affects them. It requires them to attend a weekly group session, wherein they try to understand their issues and learn how to cope with them.

Substance Abuse Disorder Track

This works with people who deal with eating disorders and substance abuse at the same time. This aims to educate patients on their relationship with addictive substances and provide support by teaching recovery skills and strategies, identifying relapse triggers, and maintaining abstinence.

CAMSA® - Healing Through Empowerment

This stands for Connection, Acceptance, Mindfulness, Sense of Self, and Action – focusing on the patient’s mind, body, and spirit. The treatment center uses this model to teach the skills patients need to sustain long-term recovery.
