Cybersecurity and digital forensics industry leader ECS, in partnership with Chain Analysis, an international blockchain analytics firm, delivered a specialized course on Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Investigation on October 23, 2021. The focus of the workshop was to train professionals on the methods of investigating cryptocurrency transactions and preventing illegal activities on the blockchain networks.
Along these lines, ECS President Mahesh Vaidya hosted the session, noting how blockchain technology is becoming more and more relevant in the modern world. For this reason, he added, such investigative techniques should be imparted to professionals engaged in the sectors of cybersecurity, finance, and law enforcement to ensure the proper use of cryptocurrencies.
The session was co-hosted by Ronee from Chain Analysis who presented the participants with advanced knowledge of the blockchain tracing and forensic methods. Participants were instructed to do the following:
• Detect suspicious cryptocurrency transactions,
• Retrace the movement of assets stolen from legitimate finances on the blockchain fields,
• Utilize blockchain analytics instruments in the course of investigations,
• Understand the business environment associated with cryptocurrencies and transactions with them in the world.
Professionals from various sectors, including cybersecurity analysts, forensic experts, and financial investigators, participated in the session. They gained hands-on experience with Chain Analysis’s tools and methodologies, empowering them to trace complex cryptocurrency movements and identify potentially fraudulent activities.
