This unconventional 'Coming Soon' page is delighting the visitors and slaying the dogma that websites are meant to be 'just' functional.

With the rise of digital natives comes an increased demand for new and engaging
ways for brands to interact with their users and potential customers. Brands strive
to engage their audiences from their first touchpoint until the end, creating
awareness, positioning themselves as thought leaders, and building brand loyalty.
In the rat race of running this marketing machinery efficiently, most brands miss
out on creating a delightful experience for customers where their customers feel
like they're in the centre of everything.
But it seems like things are going to change soon. We've apparently found our
winner in an incredibly tiny 'Coming Soon' page hidden deep within the dark
alleys of the internet, tucked away nicely in a corner. This page we're talking about
has been designed by Enigma - a digital experience design agency, to announce
their new website's launch date.
With this page, they've not only been able to attract new visitors to their website,
but people have been spending time on a single-fold coming soon page and
sharing it among their friends and colleagues.
But why would anyone want to spend their valuable, limited time staring at a page
with a countdown timer? The answer is – it is not a conventional 'Coming Soon'
page. Well, in a sense, it is, but with some subtle differences. The page asks
visitors to help the agency launch its new website by untangling the web
developer (a spider in the web), and people are obliging. This simple page
incorporates an effective neuro-marketing technique that keeps the design simple
yet absolutely pleasant to human eyes. Though it is difficult to separate the spider
from the web at first, once you figure out how to do it, you will be hooked! You'll
not be able to stop yourself from dragging and tossing around their "Web
Developer" and spend several minutes doing it.
Don't believe us? Visit their website and try for yourself – www.weareenigma.com
A few people we spoke to also admitted to sharing this with their kids as it gives
them a task to do, all while engaging them in wild goose chase for a considerable
amount of time.
With an Indian agency producing this kind of experiential digital creatives, we
hope that digital products in India will become more aesthetically pleasing, deliver
better user experiences, and be more widely adopted by the masses.
This one instance may not be enough to rely on, but at least it's a good start.
