There’s an unspoken rule on FIFA 14—if you score by pacing it down the wing, pinging it into the box, and getting your towering 6 foot 6 centre forward to head it past the keeper, then it doesn’t really count as a goal.

The game obviously counts this series of actions as being a goal, but if you’re playing against a friend in your own home, and you score a goal like this, you turn to your friend and bow your head in shame.

Player 3. People who score one goal and then pass it around the back four
You are the worst type of human being. Not because passing it around the back four for 10 minutes is really annoying, but actually because you can score.

You did it once, after 20 seconds of game play, so why not do it again? Then, we spend the next 10 minutes chasing the ball around, knowing that if we forfeit the game, we get a moral victory (but you get a real victory).

Player 4. People who block
Due to improved and far more realistic physics in FIFA 14, you can no longer skip past players off the ball as if they aren’t there.

This is good for a number of reasons, mainly because it reduces the ability of pace players to just run around defenders. If the defender is goal-side, even if it’s someone with the pace of Per Mertesacker, it’s difficult to beat them in a race for the ball.

But, it’s also bad because you can illegally block a striker without having to press the tackle button, and the AI referee almost never picks up on this.

Player 5. FUT players who want to be your friend
