Parenting program proves popular
A record Golden Goose Shoes number of people from Cape York Indigenous communities have signed up for a federally-funded parenting project.
Eighteen months ago, the Apunipima Health Council was given $700,000 over three years to run the program in seven communities.
Beth Lauder from the Families and Community Services Department says the workshops were a success because they were developed locally.
"Over 250 parents have already taken part in those workshops," she said.
"It's interesting that that's come from the community https://www.goldengooseshoesit.com and as a result, parents are going along to these work shops in large numbers."
