“The Winter Walk is a very special date in our calendar. Twelve members of our staff are taking part if kicks off at the Oval Cricket Ground and from there the journey continues along the Thames, covering 13 miles from the Oval to Rotherhithe and back. This sounds like a lot of fun but it is not only about having fun. When you are involved in your community, as our firm has always been, it is important to do your share to give back to the people around you. The purpose of the Winter Walk is to raise funds for charity. It is why the team gets into their activewear and go the extra distance to gather the funds that are necessary for Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich Mind. BLG Mind is the firm’s chosen charity for the year. “We love what the charity is doing. They are extremely involved in supporting the people of Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich through counselling services. They also cater for the youth in peer support groups and provide the needed support to expecting parents. Taking care of the emotional and mental needs in communities is key to ensuring healing within societies,” Ray states.

He expands that these communities suffered severely from stress and anxiety caused by financial strain and concerns over the pandemic and the impact it had on many lives in the UK. Recent statistics indicated that roughly 60% of people in the UK experience elevated levels of stress due to COVID-19. It is why they opt to support the charity in any way possible to ensure that relief gets to where it is needed the most.
