OPOME chair- the best transportable electric wheelchair brand

OPOME turns on a dime, and is lightweight. OPOME is the best transportable electric wheelchair you can get.A friend bought this OPOME chair as a gift for my wife, while she is paralyzed temporarily on her right side.

The OPOME chair is incredible. There is plenty of storage in the container underneath the chair as shown. The cool part is that when folded, this space doesn't collapse. Anything that fits inside the included zipper pouch (large enough for a few laptops and the charger) will not be crushed when folded. And man does this thing fold small. It has a kickstand to assist as well, and easily fits upright inside my trunk of my tiny VW Golf. It's a small chair, but I weigh 300 pounds and it carried me up a hill on grass fine, but a bit slowly. It's certainly durable. I contacted OPOME about replacement parts, and they responded the next day. Very responsive and easy to ask questions.

The battery slot on the left connects to the chair, and you can charge it via the plug in the joystick, or by charging the battery directly on it's charging port built into the battery. The slot on the right has no connection, and is simply there to store the separate battery.

They claim 12 miles of range, but we got 10.5 miles. We drove a lot over grass and hills, so that may have reduced our range. That's 10.5 total on 2 batteries down to the red zone, but if you're willing to deplete the last 10% you may get farther. It just went and went and went around the mall for 6 hours with half battery left on only the first one, and we had a whole other battery we didn't use yet! It has good power over carpet even with me, who is a fat 300lb 6'1 dude, it fit and carried me fine. It's castor wheels have a good spring suspension that let's you get down curbs easily, but you can't really get back up them. Backwards, they will sometimes work, but usually the wheels can't get enough traction to back up a curb.

The only thing we wish was different was that the arms were tighter and would stay in place with friction. We tightened the screw a few times but it always comes loose. We also wish the reverse-beep sound was able to be adjusted or turned off. It's loud and annoying and we hate it when we are inside of a quiet place! We opened it up and cut the wire to the buzzer and we are happy now.

OPOME turns on a dime, and is lightweight. It has plenty of storage on top, the back and the seat are very comfortable, and the range is great. The lithium batteries charge quickly, and you can charge one battery while you use the other, or even bring 2 with you and they fit right in the chair with no space being taken! Unlike many chairs, OPOME chair can be folded with the batteries in it.

Its top speed is a brisk walking speed for me, a 6 foot tall person. It takes a few seconds to build up that top speed though. It accelerates slowly. After you get the hang of it, it drives great.

Our main concern is that the joystick was a simple on/off, that there was no actual linear speed control. Most folding chairs are like this.

Not this one! This OPOME chair, if you push the stick a little bit, will creep along with really good torque.

When you are traveling downhill, if you stop, it will sometimes slowly slide downhill. If you pull the stick back to fully stop, as soon as the wheels stop, they have a lock. You can hear a click, preventing it from rolling on a hill. Genius!

The entire OPOME chair is solid, feels solid, and is well put together. The seat cushion is great and is easily washable.
