President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo inaugurated the Hilton Kinshasa Hotel, located in the heart of the business center of the commune of Gombe, this Saturday. This event was attended by Prime Minister Sama Lukonde, the hotel owner Harish Jagtani, as well as many hand-picked personalities.

Hilton Kinshasa, the first hotel of the Hilton hotel group in the city, has 178 rooms, including 13 suites, 11 meeting rooms, 2 restaurants, 3 bars, 1 swimming pool and other spaces meeting the international standards of this prestigious hotel chain.

General Manager Marc Frère told the Head of State that the inauguration was a celebration of the economic development of Kinshasa and the opening of new opportunities for residents and visitors to this magnificent city. He also stressed that the opening of this hotel represented a step forward for the Congolese economy and community.

This project aims to create more than 350 direct jobs and 500 indirect jobs. The management team considers this 14-storey hotel to be the most beautiful, modern and secure in the Central African sub-region.

The Hilton Kinshasa Hotel joins Mr. Harish Jagtani's previous investments in the Democratic Republic of Congo, including the cargo airline "Serv Air", "Suprême Automobile" dedicated to the assembly of Mercedes Benz buses, the HJ hospital and the foundation of the same name.

On June 10, Félix Tshisekedi also inaugurated a bus assembly plant belonging to the company Supreme Automobile, still owned by Indian businessman Harish Jagtani, which specializes in the assembly of Mercedes Benz buses.

Harish Jagtani is involved in several projects and markets in Congo. His detractors often point to his influence and close relations with the government.
