IKO Polymeric is the UK's only manufacturer of single ply membranes. They recently opened their state-of-the-art 7000m2 facility to specifiers including architects, building surveyors and design managers. The attendees had a tour of the production line to learn about the manufacturing process of IKO Polymeric’s single ply membranes, strict quality checks and recycling procedure.

Attending specifiers also visited the Prefabrication Department to find out how the bespoke details and pre-welded sheets are made. The event also incorporated welding demonstrations of IKO Polymeric’s Armourplan and Spectraplan single ply membranes. Following the demonstrations, the attendees all tried their hand at welding and competed with each other to achieve the neatest and strongest weld.

IKO Polymeric then presented A CPD seminar on complex detailing and sustainability in single ply membrane. There was an additional CPD seminar presented by Kingspan on the fire performance of insulated panel and façade systems. Attendees also enjoyed learning about good and bad practice, responsible sourcing, and dealing with complex detailing and high BREEAM ratings.

Armourplan PVC roofing membranes are suitable for a wide range of roofing applications including specialist roofing applications such as simulated metal roofs. The Armourplan range includes six variants for specific applications and comes in two standard colours with a wider range of colours available to order to meet project requirements.

“Armourplan is suitable for warm or cold roofs whether the roof is flat, inverted or sloped,” Carlyle explains. “Armourplan PVC roofing membranes can be mechanically fastened, adhered or ballasted providing maximum system flexibility.”
