October 12 is celebrated as the National Day or "Fiesta Nacional de Espana" in Spain. It is also called the Hispanic Day or the "Dia de la Hispanidad". The day is celebrated to commemorate the arrival of Columbus in Americas in 1906. It is also celebrated as the day of the Armed Forces in Spain.
We also celebrate the Spanish day on 12 oct. This year Spanish’s celebration day was another fantastic success.
It was magnificent to have help from some of our Spanish teachers and student. This meant that as well as having their normal Spanish lessons with their guest, children and teacher could benefit from learning from other native speakers.
It was brilliant to see every Spanish student perform a song, dance or sketch in Spanish for us at the start of the day. The level of Spanish was excellent and certainly impressed our Guest. We were very grateful to all of the students and teacher as well. They played games with children throughout the institute and they taught us about various Spanish speaking countries. Reception enjoyed doing some Spanish role plays as well as playing games with the parachute.
well done to everyone involved!!
