The Akshardham in the Delhi, India is the largest Hindu Temple in the world. It is dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan who was one of the most known Hindu prophets. The show consists of the different stages in the life of Lord Swaminarayan and how he left his luxurious life of being a prince to understand the sufferings of people outside his kingdom. Ultimately he achieved enlightenment after his religious teachings to spread the word of humanity. In the show you move from one diorama to the other and see the different events happening in the Lord's life.
If you are still not tired then you should definitely experience the boat ride. The ride lasts for about 12 minutes and it makes you experience the 10,000 year old Indian heritage and culture. Through the musical fountain at night you can see the fascinating combination of the natural elements such as fire, water, air and earth. It has been built with 234 ornate pillars, 20 quadrangle Shikhars, 9 ornate domes, many arches, carved pavilions and floral motifs. Akshardham temple in Delhi also has manicured lawns and fountains. Around 20,000 statues of various divine personnel and saints have been placed inside the temple.
One of the unique features of this temple is the facility of IMAX theater, where one can see the documentaries and films on various religious topics. The main monument of Akshardham Temple is 141 feet high and a beautiful statue of Lord Swaminarayan has been placed in it. Ayurvedic Bazar and restaurant built on the theme of Ajanta and Ellora Caves are also there inside the temple complex.
The temple has been constructed with a fusion of white marble, the symbol of peace and Pink stone, symbol of devotion. The temple is one of its kinds and counted amongst the wonders of architectural brilliance in modern India. There are a number of halls and places of interest located inside the temple.
Sahajanand Pradarshan
