In order to set up the hotmail account settings properly in the Outlook 2007 version you need to follow some quick steps. In this article, we are going to discuss everything in details –

· In the Outlook 2007 version, click on the Tools menu, and simply click on the Account Settings.

· In the next step, you need to click on email tab and click on New.

· Next, you need to follow up and select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP and then click on Next.

· In the outgoing mail server (SMTP)you need to typesmtp.live.com

· Now leave the logon using Secure Password Authentication and uncheck the check box

· Click on More Settings

· Now go to the outgoing server tab, and click on the my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication check box

· Click on Advanced tab and select on this server requires an encrypted connection (SSL). You must set the port of the incoming server to 995.

· Select TLS and choose encrypted connection under Outgoing server (SMTP)

Now just on the right side of the internet email settings screen click on test Account Settings option. If you do not receive any type of errors, then you will come to know that your account has been set up perfectly. However, if you receive an error while setting up, then be rest assured that you have entered any information incorrect. Then you need to move back and rewind the steps you have taken before and have a thorough check on them. If all the information is incorrect and you continue to receive errors, go to the "Next Steps" preceding to the next section. Then click on the next and finally click on the Finish button to end the processes.
