What is a Laminar flow cabinet?

How are the cabinets made?
The Laminar Flow cabinet is where the entire body air has a designated uniform space in both velocity and direction. The laminar hoods are stainless steel; you will not find any joints or gaps in the hood.
How does the laminar hood work?
The laminar airflow hood has a filter pad, fan, and highly efficient particulates air filter known as HEPA. Using a filter pad, the air is pulled through it. The dust or any other outside particles are captured in the filter pad. This pre-filtered air is passed through the HEPA filter. When it is passed through the HEPA filter, all the contaminants such as fungi, micro particles, and bacteria are removed.
Thus there is a free flow of air with no contaminants, helping the scientists work without contamination. There are different types of laminar – vertical laminar air flow cabinets and horizontal airflow cabinets. You may choose your choice based on your needs.

Keep written instructions and protocols before you use the laminar flow. This is important because everyone should know the method of operation.
Before use, please check the working of the cabinet. Keep the cabinets where there is minimum traffic and fewer distractions. Keep as few items as possible in the working space.
The Laminar flow exhaust system should never be obstructed. While cleaning the cabinet, monitor the sweeping direction.
