Mit dem Acer Liquid Jade plus erwartet uns im August ein neues Mittelklasse-Smartphone. Acer setzt auf ein 5-Zoll großes IPS-Display mit einer HD-Auflösung von 1.280 x 720 Pixel. Der Prozessor wird vier ARM Cortex A7-Kerne mit einer Taktung von 1,3 GHz beherbergen, womit zumindest keine Leistungswunder erwarten werden können. Bei einem Preis von 279 Euro sollte dies aber auch nicht überraschend sein. Der Flashspeicher wird 16 GB groß sein und lässt sich obendrein via MicroSD-Karte um bis zu 32 GB erweitern. Acer installiert Android in der Version 4.4 KitKat vor und versieht das Betriebssystem mit einigen Anpassungen, darunter die Float-Apps. Durch diese wird erweiterte Multitasking-Funktionalität erreicht, so werden etwa Anrufe mit einem Pop-Up angezeigt und ein in Vollbild laufendes Video oder Spiel wird nicht unterbrochen. Damit das Multitasking möglichst flüssig von statten geht, verbaut man 2 GB Arbeitsspeicher im Smartphone.
