Although the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) with Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod is already considered the best place to take your professional scuba Instructor training, things have now got even more awesome.

Gili Islands, Indonesia - Over the past couple of years the program has gone from strength to strength and given professional Divemasters the skills, knowledge, education and confidence to go into the dive industry and carve out highly rewarding and successful careers as scuba diving instructors.

The program already holds many benefits over other programs in alternative locations including the reputation, professionalism and experience of Holly Macleod, who entirely runs the program. Holly has worked in a huge range of dive related roles including retail, dive shop management, livaboard crew, instructor and group travel organizer; she has also spent over a decade working around the world teaching in locations such as Europe, Central America, most of Asia and Australia and her experience allows candidates to seek advice about potential job opportunities within specific locations and gain specific advice of what to expect from particular potential employers and conversely what will be expected by those employers. Holly has received multiple awards for her professionalism and overall dedication to the Industry and to the professional dive training programs she has developed. These awards include the “Elite Instructor” Award, the Platinum PADI Status and the PADI “Commitment to Instructor Development Award”

The program is conducted at a world class Dive Center which was actually the first ever PADI 5 Star IDC Career Development Center (CDC) to be established in the Gili Islands, Lombok and the entire Nusa Tenggara Barat region of Indonesia. Today it remains the only PADI 5 Star IDC CDC Center in Gili Trawangan. The dive center offers first class training facilities for divers of all levels including a purpose built PADI IDC training classroom, 2 dive training swimming pools, a dedicated Instructor training boat, Men and Womens changing rooms including lockers and showers, equipment storage room and a swim-up pool bar and beach bar. The Dive Center is also situated directly on the beach comprising of a beach side restaurant and bar, a water sports center, beachside sunbeds and direct swimming access to one of the best stretches of beach in Gili Trawangan. Being directly situated on the beach means the boat leaves directly from the dive center and the purpose built Instructor training sites, being just a stone’s throw away, can be accessed easily and quickly. This minimizes travel time and maximizes time spent in the classroom, the swimming pool and on the training site.

During the course of 2015 well over 100 people chose to take the PADI professional Instructor training program at PADI IDC Indonesia proving it to be the prime choice for career progression within the industry. The program offers more and more improvements and additions for 2016.

Firstly the schedule has been revised for 2016 and this has been scrutinized and designed for the purpose of maximizing the quality, education and fun in accordance with feedback from previous students, market research and the trial of new ideas in the past 24 months. The result of this has allowed the program to generate highly skilled scuba diving instructors through the use of extremely high quality education and real life industry training experience all delivered in a fun and professional manner.

Now the program runs on an 11 day schedule and includes 5 days of pre IDC preparation. The prep is designed to review skills and knowledge from the Divemaster Course and allow students to make a smooth transition onto the Instructor program. Previously this has been conducted on a 4 day basis and although this worked out perfectly we decided that with a 5 day program, candidates who wish to excel during the IDC program can use the support offered during the preparation course to make a start on the required reading and over prepare themselves for the 11 day program.

The 11 day program still follows a similar schedule of course covering all of the same topics as the previous schedule, however Platinum PADI Course Director has now restructured some of the sessions and added some additional workshops including ascents and descents workshops, dive site management, student control, and additional sessions for candidates to increase their confidence on areas of personal concern.

All the relevant information on the program can now be found in the PADI IDC Gili Brochure which outlines everything that a candidate would need to know to begin a new and rewarding career as a scuba diving instructor. Other sources of information include the PADI IDC Indonesia catchup page on Facebook, which includes all of the latest news, updates and information. Another great thing about this program is that interested candidates are always able get in touch with the Platinum PADI Course Director Directly.
