Clipping their nails with regular nail trimmers was not awful. Until I missed. You see one of my dogs has black nails and you can't see the quick. The minute I clipped her nail I knew. I was almost in tears over how bad I felt. After that, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I would try, but I would get too nervous. I didn't want to risk hurting her again.
I wasn't sure if my dogs would hold still for the Pedi Paws simply because it was new and different. But within a couple of minutes of getting them used to the sound of it, they were fine. Actually, I think they found the vibration relaxing. The best part about Pedi Paws is that I can't "miss" anymore. With that fear taken away, I can trim my dog's nails again myself The only downside is that with Pedi Paws the vibration stimulates the quick and makes the nail grow faster than with regular nail trimmers. So you have to trim their nails a little more often. I do it about once a month.
So we all pretty much know Pedi Paws works on dogs, but what about cats? I have never attempted to cut my cats nails before. I actually didn't know you could until one of my cats had surgery and the vet cut her nails simply for her safety with the stitches. I thought I would give Pedi Paws a try on my cat and she really didn't seem to care. I was so excited! I tried on my other cat and she wasn't as comfortable with it at first. After a few times, she now spreads her paws out and sticks out her nails for me. She thinks she's getting a pedicure or something. It's too cute. All I know is my cats like it too. And so does my furniture. If you read the instructions and watch the training video, I believe that you and your pet will love Pedi Paws too. So if you've ever wondered about Pedi Paws. Now you have at least one more person's opinion. I highly recommend it.
As I mentioned previously, several sites offer instructions on building simple, basic C&C cages. Many of them also list sources for materials. A few national department store chains are recommended as sources for metal grids. The problem is that much of this information is now several years old and some of the grid sources have modified their products.
