Spanish wine market overview by the Spanish Observatory of the Wine Market

The Spanish Observatory of the Wine, periodically publishes data on the evolution of the wine market in Spain. According to the Observatory, 2012 closed in Spain with a decline in the volume of bulk wine sales of nearly 20% reaching 9.97 hl. This decline was compensated by a strong increase in the value from 8% to over 465 million euros.

Within the segment of bulk wine, the average price of a liter of wine went up nearly 34% to 0.47 euros. The biggest buyers of bulk wine in Spain were, in this order, France with 3.25 million hectoliters for an amount of € 135 million, Germany with 1.57 million hectoliters for a total of nearly 64 million and Italy, with 1.19 million hectoliters to 54 million euros.

Laygo Gaskets provides technology solutions for the improvement of production processes by using plate heat exchangers. The wine industry uses the plate heat exchangers in the cooling process and pasteurization of wine must at low temperature. Laygo Gaskets supplies gaskets for the plate heat exchangers used in the sector.

Laygo Gaskets have the knowledge and R & D needed to adapt to the needs of the wine industry. As main advantages we highlight the process of cleaning in place CIP (cleaning in place) where cleaning solutions are circulated through the ICP for proper disinfection. Due to the aggressiveness of the cleaning materials, Laygo Gaskets has developed high strength elastomers prolonging the time until the maintenance shutdown.
