Brass and copper content in water may cause metal bathroom faucets to corrode. Scratched or broken metal faucets uncovered to water, oxygen and co2 also develop corrosion. Corrosion produces reddish-brown scale on bathroom faucets that's aesthetically unappealing. If not treated, corrosion can spread via a faucet until it weakens and becomes permanently broken. Quickly remove corrosion to maintain a faucet's appearance and structural integrity. Fortunately, fundamental supplies can effectively eliminate corrosion on basin faucets.
Dampen a gentle, flannel with tepid to warm water. Wipe the material within the faucet to get rid of loose dirt, grime and debris.
Fill a plastic bowl with 1/4 cup of salt and a pair of tablespoons of. of fresh lemon juice. Completely mix the components to create a paste the consistency of icing.
Spread the paste evenly to the corroded part of the faucet. Keep your paste around the faucet for half an hour.
Scrub the tap having a nylon bristle brush to release the scaly debris.
Dampen another soft, flannel with tepid to warm water. Wipe the moist cloth within the faucet to wash away the paste and loose corrosion.
Wipe the tap having a terrycloth towel until completely dry.
Do this again or no trace of corrosion remains around the faucet. Make certain all corrosion is totally removed.
