The Supply Chain India Summit commenced today at the ITC Grand Central, Mumbai. The summit commenced with opening remarks from the conference chairman Arun Sharma, General Manager Logistics at Oriental Electric, followed by the keynote speech delivered by Vijay Kalantri, Chairman & MD of Dighi Port Ltd., Vice Chairman of All India Association of Industries (AIAI), and the President of World Trade Centre Mumbai.
Shreyas Malkan, AVP at Reliance Communications spoke on the present scenario and the role of Government to develop Indian supply chain. Supply Chain Excellence Expert, Rajesh Pednekar addressed the challenges in Indian scenario and presented winning strategies and means to implement innovative methodologies for competitive advantage.
Shailendra Tyagi, Vice President of ITC Ltd., focused on the Indian Retail Chain Model – A Brick and Mortar
Approach, and ways of optimizing the seasonal fluctuation and sale cycle. Gaurav Sharma, Vice President of Cadbury – Customer Service and Logistics, spoke on designing appropriate supply chain strategies to access large markets which was followed by a networking luncheon. Post lunch sessions will witness Vineet Baid, Director - Operations & IT of Jabong address on the role of technology used to sync supply chain; Vikram Mansukhani, Drive India Enterprise Solutions Limited (DIESL)– A Tata Enterprise, Head – Business Development and Corporate Services on supplier relationship management and will conclude with a workshop on the Beer Game.
Tomorrow, day two of the conference will feature speaker presentations from Sandeep Kumar, Associate Director – Supply Chain of Johnson & Jonhson; Sukumar Narsimhan, Sr. Vice President at Reliance Industries Ltd.; Javin Bhinde, Executive Director of SynCore Consulting Group; Pankaj Narang, DGM - Central Purchase of Tata Autocomp Systems Ltd. - Supply Chain Management Division; Nidhish Kuchhal, Dy General Manager of Mahindra & Mahindra; Siddharth Roy, GM Operations at Oxford University Press and many more. Case Study about the Mumbai Dabbawalas will be presented by Raghunath Medge, President of Dabbawala Foundation.
