Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources supports Global Gas Opportunities Summit

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources; Turkey is supporting Global Gas Opportunities Summit to be held from 1 - 3 October 2013.
 
Fueling Cross Border Initiatives - The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources; Turkey is supporting Global Gas Opportunities Summit to be held in Istanbul, Turkey from 1 - 3 October 2013. The summit will gather global gas experts to discuss the latest trends in the gas industry and future prospects. Turkey forms a very important energy hub because of its resources and strategic placement between Asia, Middle East, North Africa and Europe. Turkey in association with Azerbaijan is working on Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP) that will act as a passage between the Caspian Sea the Adriatic. According to news sources Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said, "Azerbaijan will invest 17 billion lira in the Turkish economy to construct the TANAP gas pipeline and implement other projects".

With speakers from organizations like TAQA Arabia, Gazprombank, Emirates Gas LLC, Cedigaz, Continental Gas Storage BV and Petronas to name a few the summit will cover topics like political risk analysis in gas industry development, designing efficient gas networks, projects on small scale LNG and managing pipeline integrity among others. The three day summit will be hosting four panel discussions, three case studies and two workshops on the final day. Panel discussions will be held on role of Turkey as the emerging regional gas hub and international pipeline projects contributing to it, developments in the gas industry worldwide and analysis and opportunities in infrastructure investment.

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (ETKB) was established in 1963 and looks after policies pertaining to energy and natural resources for Turkey. The summit is also being supported by Natural Gas Distribution Companies Association of Turkey - GAZBIR, Liquefied and Compressed Natural Gas Association, Cedigaz, Gas Infrastructure Europe - GIE, World Pensions Council - WPC and Independent Power Producers Forum - IPPF. The summit to be held at Sheraton Istanbul Ataköy Hotel will serve as an excellent opportunity for the attendees to interact with industry peers from ADNOC Distribution, Indonesian Ministry, Gulf Gas, NNPC - Nigeria, Kuwait Gulf Oil Co., Brothers Gas Bottling & Dist. Co. (L.L.C), Oando PLC, Yemen Company for Investments in Oil and Minerals (YICOM), National Oil Corporation (NOC), Sotogas SA and Sonangol.
