Conversation With Industry Leaders: What Makes a Powerful Tender Response?

Last week, we had the opportunity to attend a technical writing seminar hosted for budding writers. Tim Entwisle, one of the speakers, was kind enough to answer a few of our questions after the event concluded.
With over thirty years in the industry, Tim has worked on a wide range of business communications and technical writing projects. He has collaborated with government organisations and large corporations on projects of all sizes. Currently, he serves as a director at Madrigal Communications, a specialist copywriting agency in NSW.

We were interested in learning his approach to putting together a tender response.

“Winning a valuable tender can be an incredible opportunity for business. However, the path to success isn’t as easy as it may seem. There’s a lot relying on your tender response. First of all, I urge you to carefully read and understand the buyer’s requirements. Rushing through the preparation stage can be disastrous”, says the expert.

He continues, “I have also observed that budding writers often forget about following the buyer’s specifications. From a tender proposal template to word limit, it’s crucial to follow each and every specification to put together a complaint document.”

“Lastly, don’t hesitate to seek help if you don’t have any clue about tenders. Why waste such high-quality contracts? Get a professional writer on board and make the most of these opportunities.”, concludes the expert.
