Varrock has civilization (the memorial ) and shopping (the expansive exchange). But once you venture off the main road, it is all slums. Nyet. Though, despite the talk of a goblin invasion in Lumby, they seem to mind their own business if you don't begin a fight together. Being walled in and well shielded gives you an idea of security (possibly a false sense of safety?) , as well. But if you are not a dwarf miner, there's not much happening there. Sure, there's the party space, but I have yet to see a celebration there...

Pack a picnic basket and have a seat on the mountain and see the PvPers battle it out just beyond the Wilderness Wall (you're in no danger so long as you stay on the"civilized" side).

Ardongue is a large city. It's a sizeable market in the village square. And it even has a zoo! However, who wants to live so near this walled-in plague city (regardless of the rumors which the jolt is a hoax)? And if you venture beyond the city walls, you're at risk of being kidnapped and forced to fight to the death from the Fight Arena (seriously, why don't the authorities move and put a halt to that surgery?) .

If you like hot, arrid climate, there is Al Kharid and Pollnivneach. Brutally hot climates don't appeal to me personally, purchase hey, whatever warps that your starship:--RRB- Port Sarim is a little fishing village. Very nice if you're a"boaty" person. Taverly was once a gorgeous druid village before it turned into a war zone. Not too long ago, Taverly could have my vote. Alas, not any more. Too dangerous.
