Muscat, 16 February 2016: 5th Annual HR Oman Summit commenced today morning at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Muscat, Oman. The summit rotating around the central theme of “Taking HR from Productivity to Profitability” gathered HR experts from leading organizations in the region.
The first day of the conference was inaugurated by the opening speech from Saif Al Nabhani, HR Advisor at Ministry Of Health -The Sultanate of Oman, followed by a keynote presentation on “HR Strategy Driving high performance through innovative capabilities in talent, organizational change and HR” by Dr. Zahra Al Rawahi, Director of Innovation Capacity Building at Research Council - The Sultanate of Oman.
Mohammed Al Riyami, Senior Manager: Career Planning from Omantel,elaborated on the Customer Centric HR strategy, through which Omantel was recognized and awarded MENA Excellence Award). A case analysis on new roles and responsibilities for HR in current economic downturn was joined by Directors, General Managers and Vice Presidents from Oman LNG, Oman Rail and Oman Oil Company, and moderated by Hilal Al Jadidi, Head of HR Excellence - Takatuf Oman
Hamdah Al-Shamsi, AGM Adminstration & Finance - Public Authority For Social Insurance (PASI),engaged the audience with competencies based performance evaluation system, which Sajan Nair, Country Manager - Xpertlearning explained the importance of running effective training interventions in Oman.
The other sessions of the day include presentations from Oman Society for Human Resource Management,Oman Ministry of Health, and the concluding roundtable session on building a strong HR as an integral function of organizational development, workforce remodeling and talent development.
Tomorrow, the second day of the conference, will feature several real-life case studies, intriguing presentations and much more by experts from Oman Airports Company, WorleyParsons, Al Ghubrah Power & Desalination Company and Leadership and Talent Boards, ORPIC, Procter & Gamble among others.
17th February,the final day of the summit will feature a workshop on “A new performance management system, and pay-for-performance approach at a regional conglomerate” by Sandrine Bardot, HR Consultant at Compensation Insider, UAE.
