Experts Gather in Dubai to Uncover the Next and Upcoming in Parking and Traffic Management

Day one of NextGen Parking & Traffic Management Summit 2016 saw leading experts gather together to discuss the latest technologies and strategies for the industry.
 
2nd March 2016, Dubai: Improving the quality and efficiency of parking facilities is an instrumental step towards reducing traffic congestion, pollution and bridging the parking demand supply gap.

Assembling leaders and from the road transport, parking, commercial infrastructure and facilities sectors, the Next Gen Parking and Traffic Management Summit began today at the Sheraton Creek Hotels & Towers, Dubai. Focusing on the latest technologies and innovations for car park safety, digitization and smart parking systems the summit over 60 key delegates to discuss the trending topics, challenges, concerns and strategies for the region.

The summit started off with a special presentation on car park safety by Stephen Lambert, Principal Engineer at Abu Dhabi Municipality. Lambert elaborated car park layouts and structural safety in his presentation. This was followed by an intriguing presentation titled “NextGen Parking & Traffic Management: Industry‘s perspective” by Mohamed Hediya, Technology Innovation Manager at Majid Al Futtaim Properties.

A special focus panel discussion on achieving better integrated car parks was joined by experts from Nedap, Fybr-Tech and Dahua Technology. The highlights for the day included a special session, where the attendees got a chance to directly consult with the specialized industry experts regarding their challenges and issues.

The sponsors for the conference engaged the audience through presentations on technologies and strategies for the region. John Awad, Managing Director - Secure Parking, who was also the chairperson for day one, discussed how customer service can be revolutionized through technology excellence J. Deon Bender, P.E., Director Operations MENA Region at Walker Parking Consultants elaborated “Parking Planning & Design: Understanding Parking Demand Generation” in his presentation. Stephen A. Cebra, Senior VP at Walker Parking Consultants also presented during a pre-lunch session. “Integrating Mobility to Cities - Building better Cities with High Performance Park N Ride” was discussed by Jukka Riivari, Chief Executive Officer at Lean Park.

“From Smart Parking to Smart Lighting and Delivering a Platform for Smart Cities” will be elaborated by Dr. Richard Goodwin, Chief Operating Officer at Fybr-Tech. Edwin Siemerink, Proposition Manager at Nedap will speak about “Smart City Mobility – the reality of today”.

The summit covers all the major trends, issues and challenges for the industry and provides an excellent learning and networking opportunity for all its attendees.
