Industry heads presenting and showcasing technological advancements in the healthcare sector, at the 3rd Annual Healthcare IT India Summit scheduled on the 7 & 8th May, at Taj West End, Bengaluru - India.

Technology has bestowed a great leap of advancement to mankind. With the emerging technologies in the healthcare industry we are now able to discover better cures, convenient medical procedures and processes not only for the patient but for the practitioner as well. Latest techniques such as EHR, EMR, ICT, digitization, Business Intelligence(BI), have made day to day work more efficient and time saving. Business intelligence can be described as a set of techniques and tools for the transformation of raw data into meaningful and useful information for business analysis purposes.

According to Dr. Naresh Yallapragada, Secretary - HL7 India,"the stress upon BI across all industries has gained speed in a big way. The rationale behind all this is to gain significant inputs into the operations including clinical and business work flows. These inputs put the management of that institution at a vantage point to better understand their service delivery and plan for becoming better at all the touch points in a patient's journey."

Focusing on these advancements, he also believes that,"Big data in its latest avatar has been abused by quite a lot of novice people. The fundamental question is how big should the data be for us to infer it to be big and how does that affect our planning process. However, more the data in hand the better we are to adopt, analyze, strategise and plan our services. Data governance involves in how well you manage the data and how do you choose only the data which is required and valid and leave away the 'noise' in it.”

Pradeep Saha, Sr.Vice President:IT - Max Healthcare Institute Ltd.India, believes that IT & Pharma are two different worlds where IT can only be a strong enabler to run pharma business. Scheduled on 7-8th May 2015 at Taj West End – Bengaluru, the 3rd Annual Healthcare IT India Summit, will feature presentations and elaborate panel discussions on EHR, EMR, data mining, ICT, role of CIO, digitization, telemedicine, change management, new age patient, business intelligence, DICOM & PACS, operations management and many more.
