Sega mentioned that crafting and gathering would be getting an overhaul, and while we did not have a peek at crafting, we did see how much nicer it is to snag items in the specialty. Gathering can be done on the fly, similar to Dragon Hunter: World. Get close to an item, and tap a button. Fruit can be harvested from trees, you will find fresh docile creatures which may be hunted for meat and other things and healing items can be seen throughout the property as green glowing indicators called Resta Signs. It is a lot more intuitive than the present game.

It is only faster, more portable and smoother. There are no longer Perfect Attacks; instead, it's more like modern action games with combos and counterattacks. Dodging and obstructing is more fluid for many classes also. Certain classes may see a difference in play.

There is no more attacking in the air indefinitely, so expect to be on the ground more dodging and countering. Attacks and PAs are set up the exact same way they are now with specific buttons performing specific strikes or the 1-2-3 system. As far as PB's go, since Mag's will not be part of gameplay , they behave more like Sophisticated Photon Arts, that were released in Japan's PSO2 with Episode 6. Rather than summoning a monster, PB's will rather be a massive attack dealing serious damage that needs to be recharged through battle.

Of those three classes they showed, Force had some of the greatest changes. They now have a block similar to Hunters in addition to their dodge, which can be a much-needed addition as they can be fragile and slowed down by Technique charging. Techniques have also gotten better in that they no longer must get billed to use. They finally have an uncharged strike which, while not as strong as the charged variant, still does some good damage.

Another fantastic change is that healing items can be employed on the fly. No more getting stuck at a beverage animation hoping to heal only to be immediately smacked and shed it all with nothing you can do about it. Healing will happen instantaneously in NG while you do more important things, such as dodging. All in all, the battle is receiving a much-needed upgrade while still feeling perfectly comfortable.
