Wall paintings serve a different purpose in today's context. They not only brought art into the public sphere but also gained more recognition. You can find works of art in other parts of the city. They are also used effectively for social purposes and political messages. Graffiti is a type of mural often made against the law but is now ordered in pubs, bars, and restaurants because of its particular style and popularity.
I was born on the other side of the world, in Armenia, with hearing loss. I remember my parent's mouths moving as I watched my lips move and pronounce each letter. I learned to read lips. When I started relying on visual information with my eyes to learn, I expressed myself visually. I started drawing with a pencil and marker when I was one year old. My graphics are flat, and the numbers are nothing more than sticks and circles. I'm always looking for my style and taken from a world inspired by my imagination.
When I was eleven years old, my family and I moved to Japan for three years. I got my first hearing aid. Suddenly my silent world turned into a noisy world. My art also develops as I gain a greater sense of form, space, and detail. It gives me access to a deeper part of my imaginary world. I challenge myself to create works of art that have never been seen before. It must have been something so original, personal, unique, and out of this world that I was doing it. When I was fourteen, my family and I moved to the United States. I switched from art on 9"X11" paper to 22"X28" paper and other larger surfaces. My general feeling about the composition has improved. My characters have become more three-dimensional and realistic, and I see a better understanding of color. I noticed that my character is not old and has big eyes. I quickly realized the importance of looks in my life and soon created wholly new works of art with them. My latest composition consists of large competing eyes, twisting, moving, and flying through space, leaving a long, colorful tail in its wake.
My current art has a lot of movement, bright colors, and contrasts, three-dimensional objects, a sense of space, balance, symmetry, light, shadow, depth, perspective, and emotion, which led me to use acrylics and then oil paints. Because it gives me more flexibility and expression to do my art, I can draw what I can't with a pencil. Compositions such as images of Chinese Dragons and "Eyes of the Storm."
