A Coldharbour Engagement

Last March, ESO unexpectedly changed my life. I had been playing for about two months and was enjoying it, but because I am an introvert, I began to encounter problems when I wanted to take on dungeons alone. I was in Coldharbour being annihilated by hoards of Dremora when I finally decided to request aid. I scrolled through the list of guild members, searching for a player in the zone around my level who also had the least intimidating username possible. And that's when I found GoSeeBananaFish.

BananaFish and I battled through the Dremora together in our mismatched armor. We got along incredibly well. Once we had vanquished the Dremora, we exchanged goodbyes and, although we had enjoyed our time together, we believed we would never speak to each other again. Except we did. We began to speak almost every day.

We leveled up together and became fast friends. At first, we were hesitant to share personal information, but over time we discovered that we lived only 1,000 miles apart. In July 2016, BananaFish and I met in person for the first time. The following month I visited him in New England. Soon we were playing ESO together in person!

Last October, I moved from North Carolina to New England. We have been engaged since July 2017. ESO gave two introverts the ability to connect when we otherwise would have never met.

Language is No Barrier

One year ago while in Cyrodiil, I met the most patient, kind, and amazing Polish guy. We became daily ESO friends, but he couldn't speak English, only write in it. During our time together, he has pushed me to undertake tasks I would have never done without him, and he's helped me build a confidence I never thought I'd have. After frustrating months of not being able to communicate, I finally got him into party chat, and I slowly taught him to speak English. This is probably my proudest ESO moment, but I'm also very proud of my best friend becoming one of the finest players in the game.
