Kuntjara, the President Director of PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk (WIKA Beton), has been recognized as one of Indonesia’s Best CEOs for 2024, an award acknowledging his leadership in steering the precast concrete company through growth and sustainability efforts in one of Southeast Asia’s largest construction markets.

The honor was presented on February 14, 2025, by SWA Magazine and Dunamis Organization Services at a ceremony in Jakarta, following an independent survey of company employees, primarily at the managerial level. The survey applied the Four Roles of Leadership framework developed by Stephen Covey, assessing leaders on their ability to set vision, align teams, empower employees, and lead by example.

Under Kuntjara’s direction, WIKA Beton has retained its position as a market leader in Indonesia’s precast concrete sector, while becoming a pioneer in environmentally responsible construction practices.

The company made history in 2024 as Indonesia’s first concrete manufacturer to obtain an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), an international certification verifying the environmental impact of its products. Additionally, WIKA Beton received the Greenship Solution Endorsement (GSE) Platinum certification from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBC Indonesia), recognizing its reductions in carbon emissions and implementation of sustainable production standards.

Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest economy, is undergoing a massive infrastructure expansion under President Prabowo Subianto, including the construction of the new capital city Nusantara on the island of Borneo. At the same time, the country is striving to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as part of its climate commitments under the Paris Agreement.

The awards panel highlighted Kuntjara’s role in guiding the company’s transition, describing him as a Pathfinder capable of setting long-term goals, while aligning the organization and empowering employees to embrace innovation and sustainability.

His leadership has resonated as Indonesia shifts toward a green economy, aligning with the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2025-2045, which prioritizes sustainable development as a driver of growth.
