Experts agree - yoga is a great way to get kids moving, learning, and having fun. No one knows that better than certified yoga instructor, experienced grade school teacher, and author of Kids Yoga Stories , Giselle Shardlow. She recently announced that her Kids Yoga Stories website features an informative section called “Yoga Poses for Kids” . There, visitors can find 58 kid-friendly yoga poses along with instructions by Shardlow and illustrations by Emily Gedzyk. Completely free to visitors, this section of the website has been greeted with growing popularity and is constantly being updated with new yoga poses for kids.
“Our team is passionate about informing and inspiring parents and children to explore all that yoga offers,” Shardlow said. “We’re really proud to offer a resource for families who read our yoga books together, where they can see some of the yoga poses for kids performed by the characters. Seeing how popular this new page has become—and so quickly!—is really remarkable and encouraging.”
The Kids Yoga Stories online store now features almost 20 Kids Yoga Stories books , including books in Spanish, French, Russian, German, and Portuguese to help encourage the spread of yoga worldwide. Not surprisingly, the response to the project has been overwhelmingly positive.
Michelle M., from New York, recently said, “My son has been interested in yoga since he was a baby and would watch me doing poses. Now that he's a little older, we enjoy the Kids Yoga Stories books together at night, and he is adorable when he plays around with the yoga poses. I really feel this is going to give him a head start in being physically active and healthy over other kids who don't have this exposure. Five big stars!”
