It is the season of animated movies this year. With the minion movie, inside out and lots of others in line, 2015 has proven to be the best year for animated movies so far. Joining this list of animated movies is another animated movie called The Secret Princess.

It is an interesting fairy tale of a vast kingdom where a king wants a male child to heir his throne instead of a female child. He is worried about all the risks and fear factors involved in ruling a kingdom so he is looking for a male child. The story slowly unravels itself as two new born babies are switched by their mothers. One is the original princess and the other is a farmer’s son. The farmer disappears mysteriously leaving no trace. As such the poor farmer’s wife is accused and blamed for being a witch who has magically vanished the farmer. Afraid of any further accusations, the farmer’s wife runs away with the princess.

In order to make the plot of the story even more captivating, the writer has cleverly inculcated a tinge of the famous animated movie, the jungle book, where the animals are seen talking to themselves. As such in The Secret Princess, there is a talking parrot who has witnessed the entire process of baby switching. The parrot informs everyone in the jungle. All the animals immediately make plans to help the poor and lonely farmer’s wife and the girl who had seek refuge in jungle.

Finally, the farmer’s son or the prince meets the girl and fells in love with her. The last scenes of the movie are very captivating as a lot of characters get involved in entangling the mystery of the secret princess and the vanished farmer’s son. There is the king, the queen, farmer’s wife, farmer’s son, the princess and of course one very important character, Mr. Tortoise. All these characters unfold the mystery in a very interesting way.

The story line is very interesting and thrilling. The entire plot is full of adventure and also focuses on relationships and feelings of romance and friendship. The secret princess is a perfect blend of drama and adventure which would keep the audience sitting on their seats till the last scene. The movie is directed and produced by Segun Williams. The casting is done very cleverly and includes the top notch actors of Nollywood.

The movie is set to be released this summer in Britain. After animated movies like Frozen and Brave, an increasing trend of animated movies involving princess, kingdoms and royalty started. This is just another venture into the same arena however with a different and thrilling storyline. All the emotions and feelings are adequately catered and displayed in the movie. The movie is best for all ages. Kids as well as adults can have a watch and enjoy the super roller coaster ride. It is just another story of intense romance and innocent friendship among animals and humans.

Directed by Segun Williams, the animation film stars Cuppy Otedola as Sade, alongside Nollywood filmmaker, Desmond Elliot as a supporting actor.
