Drake, who lives in a primarily Asian neighborhood in Queens, says he has been a fan of Korean food for over a decade, but never imagined he would be chosen as the Korean Food Ambassador. “It’s an incredible honor” exclaimed Drake, “I’m ethnically Italian, so I had no exposure to Korean food as a child, but once I tasted kimchi...well it was love at first bite!”

The Korean Food Ambassador position was created by K-Food Supporters (Korean Food Supporters) an event program sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of Korea and hosted by Korea Agro-Fisheries and food trade corporation, tasked with delivering the latest Korean food news and fun events for those who love Korean food and want to know more about Korean food in the United States. Drake was selected as Ambassador after posting a number of striking images on Instagram promoting Korean food. Mike Drake is known on Instagram as KrampusNY.

Drake said “As Ambassador, my mission will be promoting safe and delicious Korean food and improving Korean food awareness in the U.S market.” and added that he will be touring Korean markets and restaurants in the New York City area. “From Woorijip to Rib No 7, I’ll visit as many as I physically can” vowed Drake.
