Because modular houses use composite walls, the cross-sectional area is smaller than that of masonry structures and concrete structures, which can increase the effective use area by about 6%. The urban and rural areas across the country complete 1.2-1.4 billion square meters of residential buildings each year. Therefore, if the modular construction of multi-storey residential buildings is adopted, the residential area can be increased by 1.2 billion × 6% = 72 million square meters. This means that without increasing the amount of land used, modular houses can build 72 million square meters of housing every year.
