Our country has developed rapidly in recent years and consumes a lot of resources. The waste of resources in construction is very serious. The introduction and application of the modular housing technology system will provide a strong guarantee for the sustainable development of our society and the ecological environment, and will bring huge social benefits to the society.

Modular house walls are mainly constructed of cold-formed thin-walled steel, heat-insulating rigid foam polyurethane, fire-resistant energy storage panels and heat-insulating rock wool, etc., instead of clay bricks and blocks, reducing farmland destroyed by burning bricks. According to statistics, the existing solid clay brick factory in my country currently covers an area of 4.59 million mu, burns bricks and destroys 950,000 mu of land every year, and consumes more than 100 million tons of standard coal. If the amount of solid clay bricks can be reduced by 20%, 900,000 mu of land for brick yards can be saved, nearly 200,000 mu of arable land destroyed by brick burning can be reduced each year, and 20 million tons of standard coal can be saved.

Modular houses increase the area of residential use and effectively use land resources. Because modular houses use composite walls, the cross-sectional area is smaller than that of masonry structures and concrete structures, which can increase the effective use area by about 6%. The urban and rural areas across the country complete 1.2-1.4 billion square meters of residential buildings each year. Therefore, if the modular construction of multi-storey residential buildings is adopted, the residential area can be increased by 1.2 billion × 6% = 72 million square meters. This means that without increasing the amount of land used, modular houses can build 72 million square meters of housing every year. Calculated by 100 square meters per household, it can solve the housing problem of 720,000 more residents every year. Calculated on the basis of 3.5 people per household, an additional 1.26 million housing problems have been solved each year. This figure has far-reaching strategic significance.

Because modular houses use dry operations during construction, almost no water is used for production and assembly, only water is used for foundation construction. Construction water alone can save more than one billion tons of water resources every year.
