The SAF scholarship allows Singaporean residents to take part in activities aimed at maintaining the peace and security of Singapore. Scholars can increase their knowledge for the highest levels of management and command.
[Singapore, January 26, 2016] - SAF offers scholarship opportunities for those who honour service and duty. As the second most prestigious scholarship in Singapore, following the President’s Scholarship, this presents excellent growth opportunities, both on professional and personal levels.

The scholarship program is open to male and female applicants who are citizens of Singapore or permanent residents intending to take up citizenship. But, they need to comply with the following eligibility criteria:

• strong interest in a military career
• qualify for and excel in Officer Cadet School
• strong leadership skills
• good records of co-curricular activities
• GCE 'A' Level (with minimum 11 academic units), International Baccalaureate, Polytechnic Diploma (with Merit) or equivalent

Apart from free tuition and academic fees, successful applicants will also have the benefit of receiving a full salary during the duration of their overseas studies. They will have allowances for books, computer, and other maintenance needs as well. The scholarship will also provide return airfare for the participants. Sponsorship for exchange programmes and Master’s degree is possible, too.

SAF scholars may pursue their studies in different fields including but not limited to the following:

• Science / Natural Sciences
• Arts / Social Science
• Engineering
• Philosophy, Politics and Economics
• Life Sciences

Most of the scholars go to prestigious universities in the UK and USA such as the following:

• Harvard University
• Yale University
• University of Chicago

United Kingdom
• University College London
