Save Weiss Lake announces Water Depth Project

Centre, AL (June 28, 2013) Save Weiss Lake(SWL) has announced it is conducting a basic depth(bathymetric) survey during the months of July and August 2013. "Monitoring lake health and measuring water quality is a complex process that requires many different pieces of information over long periods of time", said Rebecca Watson, vice president and treasurer. "As part of our Water Quality Initiative, we are conducting a basic depth(bathymetric) survey during the months of July and August 2013. The purpose of the survey is to compare the new depth data to the existing published data to quantify sedimentation rates. It involves recording depth and GPS data along designated sections of the lake." SWL is looking for volunteers with depth and GPS collection equipment to help with this survey.
