My wife and me have been in the Jewelry industry for more than 25 years. "The Jewelry Lady", to whom I am married, is my partner in a company called "Accessory Snobs". We host special events at Sam's Clubs across the country.

Over the many years that we have been in business, I can attest to the fact that my wife has managed to keep her Sterling Silver Jewelry just like it was the day she bought it. I asked her, and here's my response.

How can an Accessory Snob look after her jewelry...

Accessory Snobs are passionate about accessories and jewelry. You're like "that's hot... that's not..." and you're so dedicated, others around you will be able to properly accessorize like you.

She is the Accessory Snob head in her field of expertise and has learned that jewelry needs to be cleaned and maintained in a basic manner. This is going out to all the masses. I apologize if this is covering old ground on things you already know. There may still be pearls of Accessory Snob Wisdom that you can glean from these words...

Here are some of our tips...

Never ever let your jewelry get in the way of you . It's impossible to predict what it might do. It will also end up in your shower, which is my second biggest no-no.

Don't shower with your jewelry Jewelry is not a friend in the shower. The different products that we use on our hair and bodies, as well as the softeners in water, can cause jewelry to become dull.

What do you do with it if you don't wear it?

Sterling silver should be kept in a bag. Make sure to empty the bag completely. Your silver will tarnish if you don't remove all the air. This is due to the chemical reaction that silver experiences with oxygen.

Silver oxide is formed when silver is tarnished. Silver oxide is also known as black. Silver oxide darkens silver when it forms a thin layer of silver oxide on its surface. It can be described as a patina or gold coloring that turns black. You can restore the silver's original luster by removing its silver oxide coating.

A piece of aluminum foil can be added to the bag. Please keep one piece of silver jewelry inside the bag. This will prevent the silver from oxidizing and tarnishing.

There is a home remedy that can be used to remove tarnish from your PLAIN silver. This is only for plain silver.

Aluminum foil should be used to line the bottom of a baking pan. Place the silver object on top. Cover the jewelry with very warm water. Use one cup of baking soda for every gallon. Half a gallon water is equal to one cup baking soda.

A quarter teaspoon salt can be added. You can add a quarter teaspoon of salt to the water. The mixture will begin to froth and splash over the container. Once your jewelry has been cleaned, rinse it thoroughly. Place the jewelry on a paper towel or dish towel, and then dry it using a blow dryer. Please do not dry the silver in your hands. You will be burned by the heat from the silver!

Dip It is a store-bought silver cleaner that is amazing. Always read the instructions. Use with any type of stones! The solution should be left in the solution for between 30 and 60 seconds. These cleaners can be very strong, and silver jewelry that is left longer than recommended can become severely damaged.

A polishing cloth is required for sterling silver with stones Never polish the stone as the chemicals in the cloth could cause layers to be removed from your natural stone, abalone, and mother of pearl.

Swarovski Crystal may be stored in a jewelry box, gift box or plastic bag. The crystal should not be touched by anything. To keep the crystal safe, remove the chain from the necklace. To remove smudges, you can place a microfiber cloth on the crystal.

Your rest of the jewelry should be kept in its own box. Omegas should not be clasped. Instead, they should be loosely wrapped around themselves like a coil. For more detail visit https://www.elf925.com/
