Sinusitis is inflammation or swelling of the tissue that lines your sinuses. Sinuses are cavities in the bones between the eyes and behind the cheekbones and forehead. This substance produces mucus that keeps the nose moist from the inside out. This, in turn, helps protect against dust, allergens, and contaminants. Healthy sinuses are full of air. However, if it becomes clogged and filled with fluid, germs can grow and cause infection. The sinuses are located on the head of myopia and the eyes. They are named for the bones that make up their structure. Ethmoid sinuses between the eyes, maxillary sinuses under the eyes, wedge-shaped sinuses behind the eyes, and frontal sinuses above the eyes. The largest sinus cavity is the maxillary sinus and is one of the most common cavities for infection.
