Steam boilers are made of vessels made of thick steel which hosts the water that is heated. The water is heated with combustions of fuel, ultimately producing steam for various operations across industries. The steam produced is used for all the industrial processes instead of using electrical energy which is much more expensive.

Usually, the minimum capacity of the steam boilers is 10 litres while it can go up to umpteen number of litres, depending on the purpose. There are various types of boilers and ways that the boiler is hard to produce the steam. There are big and small industrial boilers available.

Steam Boilers are used for various industries; some of them are:

Breweries
Food Industry
Chemical Industry
Textile Industry
Automotive Industry
Commercial Laundry Industry

The boiler itself is an essential component of the generation system that also includes fuel supply, combustion air system, feedwater system and ventilation system.

The steam boilers are of different types depending on the characteristics like fuel type, firing type, vessel type, and more.

Steam boilers are fundamental to power machines in factories. Steam boilers are mainly used for building construction materials, effectively removing the dirt and stains and lastly for cleaning barrels and bottles in the breweries along with heating the mash.

How does a steam boiler work?

The cold water that enters the system might contain debris which gets cleaned by the filter that is installed in the boiler.

There are usually two primary types of steam boilers - water tube boilers and flame or smoke tubes, also known as shell boilers.

In both types, the hot gas heats the water and steam is generated. The hot gas is reversed and sent to the smoke tubes twice, and then it changes into steam. Once the steam is produced, it can be distributed via pipes to their respective places.

The steam boilers usually have 20 to 30 years of life if appropriately maintained. There are a few things that should be checked on a regular basis.

Remember, there must be a cleaning process of the salt that is present in the water which does not get evaporated when the water does. You should also ensure that the filter is cleaned so that it does not stop the boiler’s functioning in any way.

The last thing that you must keep a check on is that the boiler’s combustion fan should have a temperature that varies between 5 degrees Celcius to 40 degrees Celcius. This increases the longevity of the boiler.

Steam or any other type of boiler is one of the key elements that are incorporated in factories to give smooth and uninterrupted functioning of many processes of the factories to produce the end product.

You can buy your Industrial boiler from some of the best steam boiler manufacturers like Thermax or others to get the best designs and innovative features for your boilers.
