Portland, OR., December 16, 2020 -- The 98% pure supplement you're taking may be 100% fake, according veva.co, which hired a leading US testing company to analyze the supplements.

Following the publication of Lifespan - Why We Age and Why We Don’t Have To by David Sinclair, head of the aging lab at Harvard, sales of the supplement NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide) have exploded. Industry experts say growth is in the triple digits.

NMN, which Sinclair says helps prevent or even reverse the effects of aging, is sold on Amazon, but is very expensive - roughly $2000/lb.

The high price has led to unscrupulous companies selling entirely fake NMN on Amazon and other global ecommerce sites.

Veva (https://veva.co), which makes a longevity supplement that contains NMN, recently tested one of the top selling NMN brands on Amazon. The brand, called NMN Plus, looks legitimate on Amazon.  It’s one of the top results for NMN and has 4.6 stars from more than 400 reviews.

But while the listing on Amazon claims the product is 98% NMN, the lab tests show it contains no trace of NMN.

Hayden Hamilton, veva’s founder, is not surprised. “The supplement industry is still the wild west, and particularly so when you have new and expensive molecules like NMN,” Hamilton said, “That’s why we started veva, a brand based not only on the strongest scientific results in the longevity space, but one that also always adheres to the highest quality standards.”

Longevity supplements are particularly easy targets for fraudsters because the effects are often not apparent for months or even years, which, for NMN, include less grey hair, increased energy, and improved cognitive function.

“Recent results of NMN, as well as other leading longevity molecules, are really exciting,” Hamilton said, “They show the potential for at least 5-10 additional healthy years. But that potential is being stolen from consumers by bad actors selling misleading or entirely fake products.”

More information on NMN and other longevity molecules, including a list of hundreds of peer reviewed studies, is available at veva.co.
